Yemen armed forces say they have taken control of Mocha city

YEMEN'S armed forces say they have taken control of Mocha city, west of Taiz, after battling Houthi fighters.

Yemen’s pro-government Saba news agency is quoting a military source as saying that government forces have taken control of Mocha city, west of Taiz province.

The army of Yemen’s internationally recognised government says it began a “strategic offensive” on the Houthi-held capital, Sanaa.

The Saudi-backed military said it recaptured Dhubab district and strategic locations surrounding the Bab al-Mandeb strait, west of Taiz governorate, following clashes with the Houthis.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi says “there is no military solution” to the conflict with the US and warns Tehran remains ready to defend itself against any attacks.
