Bengaluru receives rainfall, IMD predicts very heavy rains in Karnataka for next 5 days

IMD warns of very heavy rainfall in Karnataka; Bengaluru gets light showers. Maharashtra, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Goa report heavy to very heavy rainfall in the recent 24 hours.

Bengaluru receives rainfall, IMD predicts very heavy rains in Karnataka for next 5 days

AS the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on June 7 predicted “very heavy" rainfall in Karnataka for the next five days, its capital town, Bengaluru received light showers on Wednesday.

Parts of Maharashtra, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Goa have witnessed heavy to very heavy rainfall in the past 24 hours, said IMD. 

According to the weather agency's release, a cyclonic circulation over south Telangana and neighbourhood, and a trough running from south Maharashtra to southeast Arabian off south Kerala in lower tropospheric levels, will cause light to moderate rainfall accompanied with thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds (40-50 kmph) over Konkan and Goa, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Kerala, Lakshadweep, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal in the next 5 days.

According to IMD, very heavy rainfall is also likely over Karnataka till 11 June. Heavy rainfall is also very over Telangana, Kerala and Mahe till 11 June.
