Global Malayalee Festival opens at Crown Plaza Kochi with a New Year celebration
THE first-ever Global Malayalee Festival was inaugurated with delegates from 28 countries present by Dr. Arathi Krishnan, Karansta State MLC.
She said Malayalees are the most progressive and successful immigrant community of India and wished that the Global Malayalee Festival be successful in connecting the new generation to a Global network.
Ambassador T P Sreenivasan released the souvenir.
Andrew Pappachen, CEO of the Malayalee Festival, said that the first-generation Malayalee migrants, or the NRKs, are well connected and to Kerala, and that the Malayalee Festival Federation wants to connect the second and third generation to create a Global Malayalee Community and continue the connection through generations.
Abdullah Manjeri, Managing Director, thanked the guests, attendees, board of trustees, and everybody who worked for the success of the event.
A cake was cut for the New Year.
The main event on January 2 will have a trade and investment meeting and a special session on AI and the project proposed by the Malayalee Festival, Wyanad AI Park and Data Center to have the future generation get involved in Kerala's development.
A few global Malayalees will be recognised for their contributions and 16 Malayalees from various fields from all over the world will be recognized with the Global Malayalee Ratna Awards.
