AI change in lifestyle over the next 25 years
EVEN though websites and other Information Technology started developing in the early 1990s, the last 25 years have seen the advanced developments of apps and other applications that changed our lifestyles.
We changed the way we communicate; operate bank accounts, manage many of the office work, healthcare, etc. The next 25 years will be the development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) that is going to change our lifestyle.
AI started with its first, called Narrow AI which is built for Siri, Google Maps, Catgut etc. AI is the field of computer science that focuses on software that can perform tasks that typically require human intelligence.
That task can be anything, understanding language, making the right decisions, recognising patterns, diagnosing diseases, discovering tasks, manufacturing, quality control, crop monitoring, artificial irrigation, financial management, self-driving, traffic predictions, automating grading, fraud detection, medical treatment or any work that human does.
This is the future concept of AI or General AI. Any task that humans do AI will be able to do... We expect to move on this in the next 5 years. AI is only in the beginning stage of development. The software developments are slow because there are many safety and regulatory concerns. Advanced AI can have repercussions if it starts questioning human intelligence and reversing human decisions. Advanced AI can have superhuman intelligence.
India is going to play an important role in the development of AI. Indians dominate the Technology field in the world. In the USA, 85% of computer professionals are Indians, among them about 45 per cent are from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, about 20 per cent are Malayalees, mostly grew up outside Kerala. Kerala can play a major role in AI development.
The new generation growing up in the USA is already into some basic AI applications. AI development started only in 2025, and in five years, it will decide the direction and future of AI in our lives. There can be some job losses due to AI in the areas of manufacturing, investigation and data collection, basic office work, etc.
Anyway, AI will be a part of future life and change our lifestyle.
