Global Malayalee Christian Forum opens

THE inauguration of the Global Malayalee Christian Forum was held on 17th August 2025 at St. Joseph’s Cathedral, Kottayam, in the august presence of clergy, dignitaries, and faithful members of the community.
The event was graced by nearly 125 participants, who gathered to witness and celebrate the birth of this historic initiative aimed at fostering unity and collective action among Christians across the globe.
The evening began with a soulful choir performance by Robin and team, whose melodious songs, rendered from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, created a devotional atmosphere and set the perfect tone for the programme.
The formal proceedings commenced with an opening prayer, followed by a Bible reading by Mrs. Ancy Abey.
Rev. Dr. Samuel T. Varghese extended a warm welcome to all attendees, setting the stage for the inspiring sessions that followed.
The presidential address was delivered by H.G. Thomas Mor Themotheos Metropolitan, who articulated the vision, mission, and responsibilities of the Forum, calling upon the faithful to unite in service and fellowship.
A devotional song presented by Mr. Nithin Mathew Thomas added a graceful pause before the ceremonial inauguration. The inauguration was solemnly marked by the lighting of the traditional lamp, symbolizing the light of unity and the guiding spirit of faith.
The inaugural address was delivered by H G Cardinal George Alencherry, who highlighted the urgent need for Christian unity in today’s world. He underlined the importance of standing together in faith to address global challenges, safeguard values, and preserve cultural identity. His words resonated deeply with the gathering, reaffirming the vision of the Forum.
A significant moment of the evening was the official launch of the membership campaign. Mr. Jacob Valsan formally declared the campaign open, and the first membership was conferred by the President, H.G. Thomas Mor Themotheos Metropolitan, marking the beginning of a new chapter in the Forum’s journey.
The gathering was enriched by felicitations and greetings from eminent personalities, including Mr. Francis George, M.P., Mr. Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, M.L.A., Rev. Fr. Thomas Kurian and Dr. Sabu T. Thomas (representing Mr. Andrew Pappachen).
Their words of encouragement further strengthened the resolve of the Forum to move forward with unity and purpose. Another devotional song followed, lifting the spiritual atmosphere of the evening.
The formal proceedings concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks proposed by Adv. Varghese Sabu, who expressed gratitude to all the dignitaries, participants, and organizers for their invaluable contributions.
The programme drew to a close with the Benediction by CSI Bishop Baker Ninan Fenn and a concluding prayer by Rev. Fr. Abey Elias, invoking blessings on the Forum and its mission.
After the formal session, a fellowship dinner was served, offering an opportunity for interaction and camaraderie among the participants. The event concluded at around 8:00 PM, leaving behind an inspiring memory of faith, unity, and shared vision.
The inauguration of the Global Malayalee Christian Forum thus marked not only the beginning of an organization but also the reaffirmation of a collective dream—a call to unity, service, and witness by the Christian community in the contemporary world.
