MARCH 30 is celebrated as World Idli Day.
World Idli Day is celebrated annually on March 30 to honour the popular, nutritious, and fluffy South Indian steamed cake.
Initiated in 2015 by Chennai-based "Idli King" Eniyavan, the day promotes the fermented rice and black gram delicacy as a global health food. It was first celebrated with 1,328 varieties and a 44-kg idli to mark the occasion.
