National awards: Best actor Mammootty; Feminichi Fathima is the best Malayalam film

MAMMOOTTY was declared the best actor for the film Brahmayugam.

MALAYALAM film Feminichi Fathima was declared the best film in the national awards announced on Saturday.

Feminichi Fathima (2025) is celebrated as one of the finest Malayalam films in recent years for its sharp, satirical approach to patriarchy and women's empowerment.

The film was lauded by critics and won numerous awards, including the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actress (for debut star Shamla Hamza) and Second Best Film.

It also swept the 2024 International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK), taking home five major awards, including the Audience Poll Award and NETPAC Award for Best Malayalam Film.
