KOCHI is poised to strengthen its position on India's technology map with the proposed AI & Data Center Deep Tech Zone, an ambitious initiative aimed at transforming Kerala into a major destination for artificial intelligence, hyperscale data centres, robotics and semiconductor innovation.
Strategically located between Infopark, SmartCity and Vallarpadam Port, the proposed zone is envisioned as a national-grade innovation district that could support the next generation of deep technology industries and advanced computing infrastructure.
The project is designed to attract investments in Tier IV hyperscale data centres, AI supercomputing facilities, GPU farms, robotics laboratories, semiconductor prototyping centres and startup accelerators focused on deep technology.

Promoters of the initiative point to Kochi's geographic and technological advantages as key factors behind the project. The city has access to submarine cable landing points, is close to Kerala's major IT corridors, has growing renewable energy capacity and benefits from a large pool of skilled engineering professionals.
These factors, they say, make Kochi well suited to host infrastructure required for sovereign computing and high-performance AI applications.
