ANDREW Pappachen, founder and former global President and chairman of the World Malayalee Council, received the lifetime achievement award from Kottayam MP Francis George at the 15th Global Conference of the World Malayalee Council in Dallas.

Andrew, in his acceptance speech, said that the World Malayalee Council was formed on the third day of the first-ever World Malayalee Convention on July 3, 1995, in the presence of more than 3000 Malayalees.

He said that there is only one World Malayalee Council that follows the bylaws and has the right to use the name and logo.

He said there are some other groups claiming to be the World Malayalee Council. He called on them to stop using the WMC name and claiming to represent the World Malayalee Council.

He said the WMC was formed to network Malayalees and create a Global Malayalee Community. He urged the Malayalees to reject the divisive forces in the Malayalee community and unite as one community under WMC for the benefit of Malayalees and continue our connection for generations.

He congratulated the newly elected global team and declared full support for them to succeed in their work of uniting Global Malayalees. He said that his time will be spent towards fulfilling the aspirations of Malayalees all over the world under the one and only World Malayalee Council.

Andrew said that it is important that the next generation take over the leadership and continue the great work of the World Malayalee Council. He wished that when we meet in 2028 in Dubai for the 16th Global Biennial Convention of the World Malayalee Council, all divisions will end and everybody will join together to work together for a Global Malayalee Community.
