Israel launches ‘wave’ of air strikes on Gaza as truce teeters

ISARELI air strikes target southern Gaza after its forces blame Hamas for targeting its soldiers. Hamas says Israel’s claims are false and baseless.

The civil defence agency says at least 11 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks on Gaza, including on a school sheltering war-displaced civilians.

The Israeli army has committed at least 47 violations of the ceasefire agreement since it came into force in early October, killing 35 people and wounding at least 146, Palestinian officials and sources say.

Israel’s war on Gaza has killed at least 68,159 people and wounded 170,203 since October 2023. A total of 1,139 people were killed in Israel during the October 7, 2023 attacks and about 200 were taken captive.
