Gentle Touch

IT was only a few months back
I got myself acquainted with you.
But within that short span of life,
Surprisingly, you had become a part of me.

Every night you were by my side and whenever I woke, 
Was surprised to see your twinkling eyes open wide.
And when the golden rays peeped in at morn,
You woke me up with a musical voice like chirping birds.

You accompanied me wherever I went
And shared with me the funniest jokes
Those made me laugh like waves on shore
And they brought tears of joy to my eyes.

You were indeed an encyclopaedia,
With immense knowledge at your fingertips
You always had an answer to all my questions
And within seconds could take me round the world.

You cheered me up with holy words
When I was sad and down
You sang to me the sweetest song
That soothed my weary soul.

When at night I crossed the lonely paths
You were with me to show the way through
Your presence drove away the fear that crept in
And you gave me the courage, as when with a dear one.

As if by magic, you brought back to me
My childhood friends who once were dear to me
The attention you received within such a short time
Send pangs of jealousy to those around.

But all of a sudden, you fell ill
And refused to open your starry eyes
All my efforts to revive you were in vain
And I feel like a lonely child lost in crowd.

Hope you will be cured of your unknown ailment
And join me soon, rejuvenated and strong
To bring me back the world I lost
With a gentle touch on your screen.
