US bombing killed 32 Cubans, says report; Nicolás Maduro to appear in US court today

AS details of the US' strikes in Venezuela continue to emerge, a new report suggests that as many as 32 Cuban nationals were killed during Saturday's attack on Caracas, the government in Havana said Sunday.

The US had launched a “large scale” attack in Venezuela on Saturday, which led to the capture of its President Nicolás Maduro and his wife. The two are currently detained in the US.

The deposed Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro is now set to make his first appearance in the US federal court on Monday. He is now awaiting trial in New York City on federal criminal charges, including narco-terrorism conspiracy and cocaine importation conspiracy.

In a series of statements on Sunday, Trump warned Venezuela's acting president Delcy Rodríguez of paying a "big price". He said, "We are ready to stage a second and much larger attack if we need to." Trump also asserted that the US was "in charge" of Venezuela now.
