Two Malayali women murderd in California; woman living in same apartment complex arrested
TWO young Malayali women were tragically murdered in California, USA, and a female friend living in the same apartment complex has been arrested.
According to initial media reports from outlets like Manorama News and Madhyamam, the two deceased women have been identified as Anjana (35), a native of Mudikkode, Thrissur (Peechi/Mannuthy area), and Anu, a native of Chingavanam, Kottayam.
Local police arrested a woman named Anila, who was a mutual friend and resided in the same apartment complex.
Reports from relatives indicate that the suspect first killed Anu inside an apartment room. She then allegedly called Anjana downstairs while Anjana's husband was away at work and killed her.
Some initial family accounts mention Anjana may have been struck or run over by a car.
The precise motive behind the double homicide remains under investigation by local California law enforcement authorities.
According to her relative, Anjana was a school teacher and was living in California with her husband, Vijeesh, a software engineer, and their six-year-old daughter, Vamika.
According to relatives, the suspect first murdered Anu inside her own apartment room.
Anjana was subsequently summoned down to the ground floor or parking area of the apartment complex, where she was killed, reportedly by being run over with a car.
The double homicide occurred on Friday afternoon while Anjana's husband, Vijeesh, was away at work. Her young daughter was inside their apartment room at the time.
