Portion of Delhi's heritage Humayun's Tomb collapses, many feared trapped
At least 12 people were injured following the collapse, with the injured being taken to various hospitals, including AIIMS Trauma Centre and LNJP Hospital. Officials confirmed the collapse did not involve the main dome of the 16th-century monument but a smaller room within its premises.

AT least 12 people were injured on Friday when an under-construction site near Humayun's Tomb in Delhi's Nizamuddin area collapsed, officials said. Rescue operations carried out by the Delhi police and fire services are currently underway at the spot.
According to a report by news wire PTI quoting police officials, around 10-12 people were pulled from mounds of debris after a distress call was received at 3:55 pm.
The injured were taken to various hospitals, including AIIMS Trauma Centre and LNJP Hospital.
Visuals from the site of the incident show National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) personnel conducting a search operation following the collapse.
Authorities clarified that the incident did not involve the main dome of the 16th-century monument but a smaller room within its premises.
Humayun's Tomb is a mid-16th Century mausoleum that is frequented by tourists.
Eyewitnesses recount incident
One of the eyewitnesses, who also works at Humayun Tomb, said he and others called for people when they heard the noise following the collapse.
“I work at Humayun Tomb. When we heard the noise, my supervisor came running. We called for people and the administration. Slowly, we took out the people who were trapped," Vishal Kumar, an eyewitness told PTI.
Initial information suggested that around eight to nine people were feared trapped under the debris, but subsequent rescue efforts led to at least 11 people being pulled out.
