Man makes friends with a giant snake in the ocean, and the comments do not disappoint

BRODIE Moss is a crazy — we mean, very adventurous — Aussie who shares videos of the incredible encounters he has both in the water and on land.

In a recent video, he came across a huge snake in the ocean, and instead of swimming the other way, he decided to make friends with it.

If you’re not familiar with most ocean snakes, many species swimming around out there are highly venomous. Most people who spot one would probably start heading in the opposite direction, but Brodie decided to make nice with this one instead. Strangely enough, the snake seemed pretty comfortable hanging around him…and we’re all baffled.

Brodie shared in the caption, “So beautiful, sometimes you forget they’re deadly…” Um, no, we didn’t. It was only you that did, sir!

Viewers left more than 1,700 comments, and many were concerned about Brodie’s safety, but we somehow feel like he’s well aware of the danger he was in. As @Boe Goe said, “Salt snakes are extremely venomous. This was incredibly unwise.”

@keoni2025 joked, “The reason why men have short lives lol!”

15,000 other people agreed when @Merlin said, “This guy guardian angel must be stressed out…” Another commenter added, “I swear people from Australia are just built different.”

In another video showing Brodie approaching an actual sea snake, a commenter said, “Close enough, welcome back Steve,” referring to Steve Irwin.

But then @Boudbwa pointed out, “This is a File Snake, non-venomous, really docile and really cute. But unless you know the difference, don’t try to approach it because every other kind of sea snake/sea krait will f*ck you up by drowning you from paralysis.”

While it appears this could be a file snake, most people wouldn’t know the difference. Maybe Brodie really did know what he was doing when he approached this huge water snake. We just wouldn’t be as brave!

We’re all for making new friends, but this is one friendship we’ll happily admire from a safe distance. He may have been completely comfortable with his new water snake buddy, but judging by the comments, the rest of the internet definitely was not!
