India asks citizens to postpone Iran travel, advises those there to leave
INDIA has advised its citizens to postpone all travel to Iran and urged those already in the country to consider leaving temporarily as the security situation continues to deteriorate amid the escalating US-Iran conflict.
In a revised travel advisory issued by the Indian Embassy in Tehran, the mission said recent days had witnessed a sharp increase in instability and violence across Iran.

The embassy advised Indian nationals planning to visit Iran "for any purpose" to defer their travel until the security environment improves. It also urged Indians already in the country to consider temporarily leaving using available commercial flight options.
For those choosing to remain in Iran, the embassy advised exercising the highest level of caution, closely following news developments and avoiding areas witnessing heightened military activity, particularly along Iran's southern coast.
It also asked Indian nationals to strictly comply with instructions issued by local authorities.
The embassy further requested Indians in Iran who have not yet registered with the mission to do so immediately and regularly monitor its official website and social media platforms for further updates.
The advisory comes as the conflict between the US and Iran continues to intensify, prompting several countries to review travel guidance for their citizens.
The latest advisory follows another night of US military strikes on Iran, the eighth consecutive wave of attacks, after Washington said two American service members were killed in an Iranian attack in Jordan. US Central Command said the latest strikes targeted Iranian coastal surveillance and air defence facilities to reduce threats to commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and retaliate against attacks on US forces.
Iran responded with fresh drone and missile attacks targeting US military assets in Kuwait. Bahraini authorities also reported intercepting Iranian attacks, while Jordan said its military shot down three Iranian missiles after sirens sounded across the country. The Israeli military said missiles launched from Iran were detected heading towards the Jordanian city of Aqaba.
The renewed hostilities come after an interim ceasefire collapsed, with both Washington and Tehran stepping up military operations. The conflict has also disrupted shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global oil transit route, raising concerns over energy supplies and regional stability.
Iran's Health Ministry has said dozens of people have been killed in recent US strikes, while Washington confirmed that the deaths of two service members have pushed the number of US military personnel killed since the conflict began to 16.
