US attacks Iran nuclear site; Kuwait desalination plant hit

IRAN says the United States has attacked an under-construction nuclear power plant, while Kuwait says a power generation and water desalination plant has been targeted for a second time in two days.

The US embassy in Jordan “strongly advises” citizens not to go to the airport or seaport in the city of Aqaba because of “a specific and credible threat”.

The warning comes after two US soldiers were killed, one went missing, and others were wounded in Jordan during an Iranian attack on a military facility.

US President Donald Trump says the deaths were “a very sad thing”, adding  “we’re never allowing Iran to have a nuclear weapon”.

A top Iranian commander has warned the US that “any aggression or barbarism will be met with a decisive and devastating response” from the armed forces.
