PC George's party merges with BJP

KERALA Janapaksham (Secular) Party leader and former MLA of Poonjar constituency, PC George, officially joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The formal acceptance of BJP membership took place at a function held at the BJP headquarters in Delhi around 2 pm.

Kottayam District Panchayat member and PC George’s son, Adv Shaun George, and Kerala Janapaksham (Secular) Party Secretary George Joseph Kakkanad also accepted BJP membership from national leaders during the ceremony.

Union Ministers Rajeev Chandrasekhar and V Muraleedharan, BJP leader Prakash Javadekar, who is in charge of the party’s state affairs (Kerala Prabhari), and Anil Antony were present at the function. Following this, PC George was scheduled to meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP national president JP Nadda in the evening.

PC George expressed his intention to support Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commendable work in India, citing it as the primary reason for joining the BJP. He disclosed that members of Janapaksham, including himself, are keen on aligning closely with the BJP.

The leader announced that, if requested by the BJP, he would consider contesting the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. However, he clarified that the final decision rests with the party leadership.

Yesterday, a three-member committee from the party, comprising PC George, Shaun George and George Joseph, reached Delhi. They held discussions with central BJP leaders before their official entry into the party.
