Release of poetry collection on May 10
‘VARI Thettikkunna Vaakkukal’ (Words that jump the queue), a collection of poems written by Tobi Thalayal, will be released on May 10 by eminent writer Dr George Onakkoor.
Poet D Anil Kumar will receive the first copy of the book.
The function, being held at the Thiruvananthapuram Press Club at 5 pm, will be presided over by Dr A M Unnikrishnan, Dean, Faculty of Oriental Studies, University of Kerala.
Poet D Yesudas will introduce the book to the audience.
S D Prins, PRO, Kerala Raj Bhavan, Samuel Kutty, former senior editor at the Oman Daily Observer, and Dr Jacob Samson, poet and novelist, will offer felicitations.
Dr M Rajeev Kumar of Paridhi Publications will welcome the gathering.
This is the second book of poems penned by Tobi, whose official name is Tobi Salins.
A senior journalist, Tobi has worked in Indian and Omani newspapers. He started off his career in The New Indian Express and was its Chief Sub Editor. In the Gulf, he worked with the Oman Tribune and the Oman Daily Observer.
The book ‘Vari Thettikkunna Vaakkukal’, brought out by Paridhi Publications, contains 35 poems and is priced at Rs 120.
Tobi’s first poetry collection, Urangaatha Janala, came out two years ago.
