3 new trains for Kozhikode, including one to Bengaluru

IN a major relief for passengers, three new trains, including Mangalore-Rameshwaram express, have been allotted benefitting Kozhikode Railway Station, reports Mathrubhumi.

MK Raghavan MP said that 16512/11 Bengaluru-Mangaluru-Kannur Express will be extended up to Kozhikode and 16610 Mangaluru-Kozhikode Express will extend service till Palakkad.

Meanwhile, the Mangaluru-Rameshwaram Express is the newly approved train for Kozhikode. The decision was taken at a meeting of the Indian Railway Timetable Committee in Bengaluru.

Currently, 16528 Kannur-Yesvantpur Junction Express is the only passenger train from Malabar to the electronic city. 

Goa-Mangaluru Vande Bharat Express is also expected to be extended to Kozhikode.
