Gurugram news: A school vice principal, Nidhi Kaushik, was stabbed to death by her brother-in-law in front of her young son in Gurugram. Kaushik's young son was also injured during the attack.

A PRINCIPAL of a private school in Gurugram was stabbed to death by her brother-in-law, days after returning from the de-addiction centre. 39-year-old Nidhi Kaushik was stabbed to death by Navneet alias Santi (45) after he came to visit her in Gurugram, the police told PTI on Sunday. 

The house was built above Adarsh Public School, where the deceased used to teach students.  According to the PTI report, as soon as Nidhi came in front of Navneet, he began attacking the woman with a knife. He didn't stop when her teenage son came in front of Nidhi to save her. After the incident, Nidhi and her son were taken to hospital, where she was declared dead. 

After the incident, an FIR was registered against Navneet under sections 323 (causing hurt), and 302 (murder) of the IPC at Shivaji Nagar police station on Sunday.

"The accused is being treated in the hospital and he will be arrested after his discharge. The cause behind the murder not ascertained while the further probe is underway," PTI quoted SHO Sandeep Kumar as saying.

The police received information about the attack after residents contacted the police. Later, the police controlled him and admitted him to the hospital for treatment. The deceased in the case, Nidhi Kaushik, lives in Shivaji Park. She used to live with her husband, Naveen Kaushik and her son in Gurugram. 

According to media reports, Nidhi's son said that he rushed towards his mother after he heard his mother screaming on the terrace on Saturday around 8:30 pm.

As soon as he ran towards his mother, he found the door to the terrace closed, after which he headed towards the roof of his neighbouring house to reach close to his mother.

Nidhi's son was also injured in the incident after he tried to rescue her from the attacker.
