Husband and the cat

Husband and the cat

"GETTING very late. Be quick," the wife said with extreme urgency.

"Shall I take a glass of water?" the husband asked.

"Don't waste time eating and drinking. If you want anything have it from outside. Come out. Let me close the door," the wife commanded.

Keeping the glass of water that he was about to drink on the teapoy without drinking it, the husband stepped out obediently. The wife locked the door. It was then that the cat came in from outside the gate crying.

"See, the cat has come. How will we be able to go out without giving it food?"

The wife unlocked the door and served it food.

The husband took the glass of water he had left on the teapoy and started drinking it marvelling at the dignity of the cat.
