Centre assures discount on flight tickets for Haj pilgrims from Karipur

THE central government will give a discount on the flight ticket price of those going for Haj from Karipur.
The Ministry of Minority Affairs stated on Wednesday that the ticket price can be reduced by Rs 40,000, reports manoramaonline.

The assurance was given to Muslim League MPs by the Central Haj Affairs Department.

This year 24,784 people applied for Haj from Kerala. 14,464 of them gave Kozhikode airport as their first option for travel.

The lowest price quoted from Kochi and Kannur in the tender for Haj flight service is Rs 80,000. But from Kozhikode, it was around Rs 1,65,000.
