On Anant Ambani’s birthday, Vantara launches pioneering university for wildlife conservation and veterinary studies
Vantara, the global wildlife conservation organisation founded by Reliance Industries Executive Director Anant Ambani, has announced the launch of Vantara University in Jamnagar, Gujarat, on Friday.
ON his birthday, Anant Ambani launched Vantara University in Jamnagar, the world's first comprehensive global institution dedicated to wildlife conservation and veterinary sciences.
Situated within the 3,000-acre Vantara sanctuary, this university aims to combine scientific expertise with traditional knowledge to foster future leaders in animal care.
Key details about the launch include:
Vision & Purpose: The university was born out of a commitment to treat rescued animals and a need for specialised education in wildlife rehabilitation, focusing on compassion, skill, and knowledge.
Specialised Education: It aims to bridge the gap in specialised training for wildlife health, offering a unique learning ground for vets focusing on complex, species-specific care.
Infrastructure: The institution leverages the vast resources of the Vantara rescue facility, which currently houses and treats over 1.5 lakh animals.
Environmental Impact: This initiative aims to set new global standards in wildlife conservation and veterinary medicine.
The launch highlights a shift toward dedicated, academic, and hands-on training for professionals committed to protecting biodiversity and managing complex wildlife health challenges.
