Vice President offers prayers at Guruvayur temple

VICE President Jagdeep Dhankhar, on a two-day visit to Kerala, offered prayers at the Guruvayur Sree Krishna Swami Temple on Monday afternoon.

His visit, originally planned for the morning, was delayed due to heavy rain. The Vice President’s helicopter was unable to land at the Sri Krishna College helipad and had to return to Kochi.

Once weather conditions improved, Dhankhar, accompanied by his wife Dr Sudesh Dhankhar, reached Guruvayur around 1.35 pm and left after darshan at 1.48 pm.

Tight security was in place in Guruvayur, with restrictions on vehicle movement, shop operations and weddings between 8 and 10 am, in anticipation of his earlier schedule.

The Vice President was received by MLA Murali Perunelli, District Collector Arjun Pandian, City Police Commissioner R Ilango, and other officials.
