Pisharody says he is leaving stage shows and films

ACTOR-turned-politician Ramesh Pisharody has announced that he is stepping away from acting in films and performing in stage shows.

Following his victory in the 2026 Kerala Assembly elections from the Palakkad constituency, Pisharody stated he would focus entirely on public service for the next five years.

Dedicated to his new role as a public representative and ensuring his full attention is given to the people of Palakkad.

He announced a break from both film acting and stage appearances.

Pisharody won with a majority of 13,147 votes in his first election contest as a Congress candidate.

Pisharody, who has been a popular comedian, TV host and filmmaker, made it clear that this is a professional shift to align with his new responsibilities
