DONALD Trump warns "a whole civilisation will die tonight" unless Iran reaches a deal on reopening the Strait of Hormuz.
But the US president adds that "something revolutionarily wonderful can happen" before his deadline of 20:00 EDT on Tuesday for Iran to reopen the key shipping channel.
The US has carried out new strikes on military targets on Kharg Island, Iran's key oil export terminal.
Speaking in Budapest, US Vice-President JD Vance says the US planned to "strike some military targets" on the island and believes it has "done so".
Iranian state media report two people have been killed after a strike on a bridge in Kashan, hours after Israel warned Iranians not to take trains "for the sake of your security".
The Israeli military says Iran has launched more missiles at Israel after several Gulf nations reported strikes overnight.
