Malayalees world over welcome to Global Malayalee Festival on Aug 15 and 16 at Crowne Plaza Kochi

MALAYALEES all over the world are welcome to attend the first ever Global Malayalee Festival to be held at Crowne Plaza Hotel, Kochi, on August 15 and 16. 
Early discounted registration is open now. 

Registration to attend the festival officially kicked off on April 5 through an online Zoom meeting. Malayalees from more than 52 countries have joined the festival now and more are expected to join. 

It will be the biggest ever Malayalee Sangamam, and Malayalees from all over the world are urged to join this great festival of global Malayalees in our beautiful homeland, the God’s Own Country.

The goal is to network global Malayalees and stay connected for generations to come as members of the Global Malayalee Community. 

We engage to become a bridge among the growing diaspora of Malayalees and the heritage that moulds every Malayalee by organizing events like the Global Malayalee Trade, Technology and Investment Meet, Miss Global Malayalee Beauty Pageant and Global Malayalee Ratna Awards. 

We also strive to contribute to charitable activities in Kerala with the primary aim of helping underprivileged people and providing them with the necessary assistance.
Malayalees worldwide are invited to attend this great event, especially the new generation born and brought up outside Kerala. We plan to create such an occasion for the new generation to seek and explore their root and heritage. Global Malayalee Festival is organized by the Malayalee Festival Federation, registered as a not for profit company in India with an NGO registration.

The major events of the festival are the first ever Global Malayalee Trade and Technology Meet, Miss Global Malayalee Pageant and the recognition of Malaylees all over the world with Global Malayalee Ratna Awards. There will be a small public meeting on the last night which will be attended by many special guests.

Ambassador Sreenivasan inaugurated the registration 

On April 5, during an online global meeting of the organizers from 52 countries, Ambassador T. P. Sreenivasan inaugurated the registration to attend the two-day festival on August 15 and 16.

Inaugurating the online registration kick-off meeting on Zoom, Ambassador T. P. Sreenivasan, Chief Patron of the Global Malayalee Festival, said: “This festival is not in the name of any organization; anyone could participate in it independently without any affiliation.” 

Mr. Sreenivasan declared his support for the success of the festival and urged all Malayalees to participate.

Early registration is open till May 15 at a 20 per cent discount which includes a two-night stay and all meals. Rates are Rs 20,000 for single, Rs 26,400 for double and Rs 6,400 for a child. You may visit the website www.globalmalayaleefestival.com and register.

Global Malayalee Trade, Technology and Investment meet 

Global Malayalee Trade, Technology and Investment meet is the major event of the festival, which will bring global leaders, visionaries and innovations under the dynamic themes of Innovation, Sustainability and Digital Transformation. 

According to Abdullah Manjeri, Managing Director of the Festival, “The meet will revolve around four competing themes: 1. Innovating for a sustainable future, 2. Global Trade in the Digital Age, 3. Bridging Markets - East Meets West, and 4.The future of Trade, Trends and Predictions. 

“The day will feature keynote addresses from thought leaders, interactive workshops and panel discussions enriched by expert insights and actionable strategies. 

“Networking opportunities will enable participants to connect with industry pioneers, fostering collaborations that transcend borders.”

Miss Global Malayalee Pageant and Global Malayalee Ratna Awards

The other two main events of the festival are Miss Global Malayalee Pageant and the Global Malayalee Ratna Awards. 

Andrew Pappachen, Chief Executive Officer of the Festival, said: “Global Malayalee Festival is for every Malayalee around the world, especially the new generation born and brought up in a foreign country, giving them an opportunity to explore their heritage and link with the Malayalee culture. The Miss Global Malayalee pageant allows young girls to participate in the event and display their talents. 

“The Global Malayalee Ratna Award will recognize the most accomplished new generation of Malayalees around the world. Global Malayalee Festival is an opportunity to link with Malayalees in other parts of the world and therefore, your attendance will benefit you and the future generation.”

The festival has the support of the Kerala Government. Chief Minister Mr. Pinarayi Vijayan and Minister of Public Works and Tourism P.A. Mohammed Riyas, along with Central Ministers Suresh Gopi and George Kurien, are expected to attend. Other dignitaries expected to attend are representatives of the Royal Family in the Gulf, senior political leaders and industry executives.
