New way of life
GLOBALIZATION, Modernization, Technology and the flow of money have resulted in a new way of Life for people. When I see Malayalam movies, even though they still show the beautiful scenery of Kerala, village life and ordinary people, I see the way of life has changed.
Mobile phones, video calls and WhatsApp messaging have changed how people communicate. People often take advantage of the ability to communicate anything privately regardless of the distance between them... WhatsApp messages are confidential and can be deleted immediately after.
People who are far apart can see each other express the feelings. Almost everybody, rich or poor, working woman or housewife, young or old, farm worker or farmer, executive or regular employee, mobile phone or cell phone and text messaging have become their new way of life.
The modern phones can also be used as a computer, everything in your palm. You can get up-to-date news and information easily. You can make your appointments and reminders, you can contact people at any time from any part of the world, you can get weather reports and forecasts, you can receive and send emails and you can have Facebook, TikTok and YouTube. There are many apps for everything, from banking to video games to flight information and the list goes on.
The revolution that technology created changed the way human beings behave. The influence of technology in our daily lives is much wider than we think and it is growing at a much faster rate. It changes the way we access resources, changes the way we think and changes the way we learn new things.
People tend to depend on technology for everything. The communication process has become much easier, faster and more personal. Our urge to use technology has increased in every aspect, the way we converse, the way we shop, the way we plan, the way we learn and even the way we express our emotions and feelings.
A wave of technological progress is sweeping away the business world. The marketplace provides different options to improve, adapt and leap forward by means of available technology. The utilization of technology for customer service, health care services, financial services and banking, manufacturing, scientific research and every aspect of development has changed the world of business and industry.
So we are in a new way of life. For those of us who were born 50 or more years ago in an underdeveloped country like India, we see the changes in life for everybody. For those people who never enjoyed, mobile phones, advanced automobiles, ATMs, ability to text and make video calls to any part of the world, ability to watch movies online any time of the day, order food and groceries online and get delivery at home, all are wonders of the new world that has changed their way of life.
Like we talk in Malayalam, the developments in technology and flow of money, have JEEVITHATHE THAKIDAM MARICHU or turned life upside down of people. If we want to go back to our old lifestyle, it is impossible to do. The modern lifestyle does not accept the old ways anymore. Well, you may say that as new generations blossom, they have a new way of life. But, the advancement in technology, communication and automobiles have created much faster changes in human life in the last 20 years, the new generation growing up is forcing the older generation to change the way of life.
Religions and worship have not changed much, but after Covid-19, religious services have been streamlined so that people can attend from home. Democratic system of governments has not changed, but the election campaigns and strategies are using technology and digitalization a lot. Communism in China has turned around to a life of business, luxury and enjoyment. Government operations and services are digitized and made much more efficient. Banking and financial services have been made online through your phones, laptops and computers.
The twenty-first century has created a NEW WAY OF LIFE for human beings in this world. Along with the technology, there are changes in climate everywhere in the world, which also forced human beings to change their lifestyles. Human beings polluted the environment through waste disposal and the atmosphere discharging carbon dioxide and other fumes, which resulted in climate and ecological changes.
Let us hope that the same human beings, who invented the technology, new communication systems, vehicles for transportation, etc. will use the intellect to find ways to reduce pollution and global warming, new medinas for cancer and other diseases, methods to catch the corrupt politicians and stop fraud and abuse will create a New World.
