A new romance is blossoming - now Dhawan has a lady from Ireland

FORMER Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan seems to have moved on and found love again.

Rumours around Dhawan’s love life first emerged after he was spotted with a mystery woman during the recent ICC Champions Trophy.

The duo was captured together in the stands of the Dubai International Stadium when India were playing their first group game against Bangladesh.

As their pictures went viral on social media, the woman was identified as Sophie Shine who is from Ireland.

Now, Dhawan has cheekily opened up about his “new girlfriend".

The southpaw recently was grilled about his personal life during an event and after initially showing reluctance, he gave a hint.

Dhawan was previously married to Ayesha Mukerji, whom he divorced in October 2023.

“Yes, I have moved on. I wouldn’t say I was unlucky in love — rather, my choices came from inexperience. But now, I have experience, and that will come in handy. It was a learning curve for me," Dhawan said.

“I am always in love!" Dhawan responded when asked if he’s ready to love again.

Dhawan was at his cheeky best when further quizzed over his new ladylove.

“See, I know how to dodge bouncers in cricket, and I know you’re throwing one at me now. But I won’t get caught," he said.

“I will not take any name. But the most beautiful girl in the room is my girlfriend. Now you can figure it out," he added.

Having parted ways with his ex-wife Ayesha, Dhawan recently revealed he wanted to stay in touch with his son Zoraver.

Dhawan was initially granted permission to speak to his son occasionally via video calls but Ayesha was reportedly against it.
